Contract for Conformity Assessment

A Contract for Conformity Assessment must be reached/signed with respect to the extent and nature of the conformity assessment procedure. The contract also includes and settles other basic matters in the relationship between Nordic Dental Certification and the organization to be assessed, e.g. fees. Each contract is assigned a unique identification.

Nordic Dental Certification retains the original contract, a copy is sent to the organization to be assessed.

Payment of assessment fee

Unless otherwise specifically agreed, Nordic Dental Certification will, usually together with the copy of the contract, send an invoice for the assessment fee to be paid before further work is performed on the part of Nordic Dental Certification.

Possible national product requirements

The client is responsible for setting up a list, together documentation as appropriate, of possible product requirements specific to the country where his company is located. If appropriate, also possible specific product requirements of other countries, such as to those where he (plan to) market his products, may be included. The list of requirements shall be included in the document review process.

Document review

Documents describing the manufacturer's quality system, such as Quality Manual and other documentation as appropriate is reviewed for compliance with the applicable requirements.

Site Visit Audit

When the document review has been completed, a date for the site visit audit is determined and such an audit performed.

Corrective action on possible nonconformities

Possible nonconformities shall be corrected within 13 weeks from the last date of the site visit audit. In specific instances, the manufacturer may, upon written application, be granted an extension of up to 13 additional weeks.

Certification

When all the auditing procedures are finished and the corrections of possible nonconformities are accepted, certification is decided by the Director of Nordic Dental Certification. After the decision is recorded, a certificate will as soon as possible be issued for the Quality System.

The certificate remains the property of Nordic Dental Certification.

Rejection of certification

If certification is rejected, Nordic Dental Certification will inform the client in writing of the rejection, stating the reasons for the rejection and advising that the decision may be appealed using the appeal procedure as stated in Part 9 of the Quality Manual of Nordic Dental Certification. If the rejection is confirmed as the result of the appeal, the rejection may be further appealed to the accreditation body for this activity, following the procedure/requirements for such a final appeal.
